Rigsafe Logistics: Our answer to transport bottlenecks

One of the biggest challenges on any project is workingaround factors you don’t control.

In our work, transport and logistics are often at the centreof that, as a critical link that can influence everything from timeframes andbudgets through to safety.

That is why we’ve introduced a transport and logistics offeringfor Rigsafe clients, designed specifically to streamline delivery and reducebottlenecks across our projects.

The launch of Rigsafe Logistics is a naturalextension of how we approach project delivery. It wasn’t about adding anotherservice for the sake of growth, but responding to a recurring challenge we wereseeing across projects.

When transport sits with a third party, timelines canquickly become dependent on external schedules, competing priorities andlimited visibility. Even small delays can create knock-on impacts for crews, equipment and planning on site.

By bringing transport in-house, we can plan deliveriesaround the project itself. If work needs to start earlier or changes need to bemade along the way, we can do so without relying on external factors.

Another layer of project value engineering

A recent project in Kalgoorlie demonstrated the value of RigsafeLogistics in practice.

With our own trucks and drivers, we were able to moveequipment and site infrastructure for the new Community Events Pavilion on aschedule that matched the project rather than the project running to anexternal timeline. When we needed extra equipment from Perth, we completed asame-day overnight run, ensuring the team had what it needed for the followingmorning.

It was a seamless turnaround that otherwise may have meant asignificant delay to overall project delivery.

When transport is considered alongside rigging, lifting andinstallation from the outset, we can identify smarter ways to sequence work, reduce idle time and ensure budgets and timeframes remain achievable. Theresult is fewer delays, improved productivity and greater certainty for clients- another example of project value engineering for our clients.

A safer, more coordinated approach

Safety is another important factor which we can bettermanage through Rigsafe Logistics. Having transport managed internallymeans the same standards, communication and oversight which we apply in otheraspects of the business, also now apply across the entire scope of work.

Our drivers are working within the same operationalframework as the crews on site, and materials are handled in a consistent wayright through delivery and install.

That continuity reduces risk and improves coordination fromstart to finish.

Fuel supply oversight

Another timely benefit of Rigsafe Logistics has beenthe greater oversight we now have over fuel supply and pricing, rather thanneeding to react to sudden changes passed through by third parties.

We’ve focused on maintaining strong relationships with fuelsuppliers, shoring up supply, and building internal efficiencies that allow usto absorb some fluctuations instead of passing them directly onto clients.

Importantly, this approach helps reduce the likelihood ofunexpected increases or last-minute changes that can disrupt budgets. Clientsbenefit from greater transparency, more stable pricing and improved certaintyat a time when fuel costs and transport availability can shift quickly.

Client-driven delivery

Importantly, Rigsafe Logistics has been shapeddirectly by client feedback. We’ve engaged with partners to understand whatequipment and outcomes they need, and have invested in specialist transportsolutions accordingly. As a direct result of these conversations, we’re excitedto take delivery of a new fleet of transport and logistics vehicles from Europein FY26/27.

The goal isn’t to operate as a general freight provider, butto support the projects we’re already delivering with a fully integratedapproach.

Ultimately, bringing logistics in-house is about reliability, oversight and better outcomes for our clients. By managing more of the deliverychain, we can reduce bottlenecks, improve coordination and give clientsconfidence that their projects will run to plan, each step of the way.
