Australia’s Tallest High-Bay Racking Installation

With extremely limited space available on site, our team engineered a unique lifting and access solution to safely install racking systems exceeding 50 metres in height. A mobile crane was positioned within the structure, supported by a custom-designed aluminium flipper deck that could slide into position on rollers and unfold to create a secure working platform for technicians installing the racks.

This innovative system enabled safe and efficient installation at height while maintaining productivity throughout the project. The flipper deck solution was recognised for its ingenuity and safety contribution, receiving a nomination for the Work Health & Safety Excellence – Invention of the Year Award.

The process was successfully repeated more than 1,400 times, allowing the project to exceed programme expectations. Complex projects such as Americold reinforce Rigsafe’s ability to engineer specialised rigging solutions that improve safety, efficiency and project outcomes.
